daylighting \`dā-ˌlīt-ing\ n : lighting of the interior of a building by natural means; e.g., by windows or skylights
A BIT OF HISTORY
In the late 80s, a young Australian engineer named David Rillie invented what would become known as the ‘tubular skylight.’ Little did he know the revolutionary impact he’d have on homes and businesses!
Marketed as ‘the Miracle Skylight™’ by Mr Rillie’s new company, Solatube International, it not only removed the issues builders and homeowners fear from traditional ‘box’ skylights, it also let in an AMAZING amount of full-spectrum daylight, filling the interior spaces with natural illumination.
We no longer call it 'the Miracle Skylight', because it is not a "skylight" in the traditional sense. ‘Tubular Daylighting System’ is a much better descriptor ('a rose by any other name...').
In any case, our valuable customers continue to be amazed at the before-and-after tranformation inside their homes. They are also pleased with the Leak-Proof Design® and assured by the Energy Star® rating and Tax Credit.
This is truly a proven and trustworthy solution to the dim areas of your home.

One of the important features of Solatube® Daylighting Systems
is embedded in
the Model number designations:
“160DS” and “290DS” refer to the
‘Square inches of daylight-capturing surface area’ engineered into the domes
on the 10-inch
and 14-inch-diameter tube skylights, respectively.
Brighter. All day long. All year long.
DIFFUSER CHOICES
Aesthetics and Decor are personal choices, so we let you choose
how you want the daylight to beautify your home.
The Vusion™ seems more ‘even’ and the Optiview® might seem more “sparkly,”
but they diffuse and let in light equally.
Check ‘em both out, then make your choice.
